Date Night

Last night this handsome guy took me out for a late V-day date night dinner.
Three delicious words: The Melting Pot. We go there only on special occasions (because it is pretty pricey), but it is probably my most favorite place to go out. So fancy and fun–and so yummy.
First up: Wisconsin Cheese fondue with fontina and gorgonzola cheese.
With veggies, apples and little hunks of pumpernickel and rye bread for dipping.
This is the face I got when I told him I would be capturing every little moment of the night on my camera…
But then we stuffed our faces with cheese and he was ok š
Second up: Salads.Ā Ky munched on a house salad loaded with crunchy croutons, veggies and hard boiled eggs. I got a California salad topped with candied pecans, more gorgonzola (LOVE bleu cheese!) and a raspberry vinaigrette.
Then came the real fun. For our entrees, we ordered a fusion of surf and turf–with more surf than turf. Because I don’t eat red meat or pork we asked to double up on the shrimp and chicken. Kyle loved the chicken because it had some sort of buffalo sauce on it. My fav was the citrus shrimp and lobster. I actually think I have only ever had lobster while eating at the melting pot with Ky.
We had no problem chowing down š
They let our tummies take a break for a minute before we got to eat the best part of the meal. That is when Kyle decided to turn the camera on me…
And then, this happened
A big pot of S’mores fondue. Milk chocolate, marshmallows and graham cracker crumbs–the waiter even set the marshmallows on fire. With all the other pots I had been afraid of burning myself. But with the chocolate, I jumped right in. When there is a big bowl of chocolate in front of your face, you don’t hesitate. š
At that point, I thought the date night had been absolutely perfect. Then, Kyle suggested we go back to his apartment to watch Breaking Dawn (for weeks I have been begging him to watch it with me) and that is when I found this little surprise waiting for me…
Is he a keeper, or what???
Happy Weekend!

Thanks Charnelle! It’s actually more of a blog about trying to be healthy–but a girl has got to splurge sometimes and I thought this would be fun to post about š I really like your blog, too—loved that google doodle this week.
